Snow

Too much snow. OK, so I live in Vermont and can expect it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Last year we didn't have any snow yet and ended up with one of the heaviest snowfalls on record on Valentines day. Perhaps we're getting it out of the way now - but I won't count on it.

Snow

A day late and a dollar (or several) short. This is how the roof looks after the 6" of snow we received. It will need a little more work next summer, but should not cause any problems this winter.
Yesterday was spent mounting the snow blower on the tractor, getting it running and clearing the yard. At least it all is running properly, finally.

Roof fixed - picture tomorrow - if I can get up on the porch roof. Snow storm supposed to start this evening and continue to Tuesday. Predicted accum. 5"-18".

Strong winds over night tried to rip off the metal roofing that has been in place for over 10 years. Winds last night were 15-25 sustained with gusts up to 39. Not terribly unusual, but this is the first time it has succeeded in lifting the metal roofing. This roof is facing south but exposed to any westerly winds with nothing to block them. This must have been compounded by the winds interaction with the slate roof it joins.
Fortunately this is as far as the lifting of the metal has gotten. I discovered it when walking the dog after getting home from work this morning. The 2X4 seen in the picture was put on following that sighting to help hold this in place until I can repair it properly tomorrow afternoon.

Thanksgiving is over, first snow has come and gone, Cedar Lake almost froze over, now almost clear of ice again.

I am still trying to figure out the new lap top for our church, w/o a whole lot of luck. I haven't figured out this new microsoft system. Some things work, others don't! Too bad they don't include ANY documentation.

Pat helped mount the snow plow, I finally took the air conditioner out and the window covered.

I think the Monday Night football game is another mud bowl. Three quarters complete with no score - Dolphins at Steelers!

Corkey has the right idea.

OK, so I'm a little tardy at this blog thing, but whenever I sit at the keyboard, I seem to have little to say.
I am a little like my dog here, sitting on the side watching the world go by..... and not all that disappointed with this.

Come on Corkey, let's continue our walk..........
